Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Holguín

Arrival at the international airport of Holguín. Transfer to Hotel Pernik.

Day 2: Holguín - Santiago de Cuba

After breakfast we will go on to Santiago de Cuba. There we will take a stroll through the city and admire the classical architectural style of the streets and churches, drop into the museum of the 26th of July, visit the impressive fortress Castillo del Morro, a 17 century
fortress, where the rebels were held prisoners during the Wars of Independence. Our guide will show us the most beautiful places of the city. The afternoon will be for leisure. We will spend the night at Hotel San Juan.

Day 3: Santiago de Cuba

In the morning you can go for a walk in the city Santiago de Cuba. Northwest from Santiago lies the village El Cobre. The pilgrimage church Caridad del Cobre was built in the 17th century. It was dedicated to the Holy Virgin, who was regarded to be the patron saint of slaves working in mines. About 40 km southeast from Santiago you will find Parque Baconao. It is very rich in diverse plant species and was declared a protected biosphere reserve by UNESCO.

Day 4: Santiago - Baracoa

The Journey to Guantánamo will take you to Mirador de Malones, a hill, from which you can view the whole US marine basis of Guantánamo. In the noon we will go on to Baracoa, where you will check-in to the Hotel El Castillo or the Hotel Porto Santo.

Day 5: Río Toa

You can also opt for a trip into the wonderful countryside and take a boat ride in a Cayuco, a traditional boat of the native Indians, on Cuba’s deepest river – Río Toa. The boat ride will take you to a typical restaurant, where a feast of senses awaits you – delicious local cuisine accompanied by good Cuban music. Transfer back to
your hotel in Baracoa. Evening at your leisure.

Day 6: Nature Park Von Humboldt - Guardalavaca

After check-out, you will depart for the paradisiacal beaches of Guardalavaca. On the way there, you will pass the nature park Von Humboldt and visit the archaeological site Chorro de Maita, a very well-preserved cemetery of the indigenous population of the Arahuaca culture. After lunch we will travel on to our all-inclusive hotel Club Amigo Atlántico.

Day 7: Holguín

Departure to Holguín. Transport to the airport and flight back or continuation of the tour with one of the other
